On the occasion of the May Day International Labor Day, on the afternoon of April 29, at the 2022 "Weihua Dream·Beauty of Labor" model worker symposium held by the Party Committee of Weihua Group, representatives of the group's advanced model worker groups spoke one after another, sharing their work experience, growth process and learnings.
Their simple and profound words are deeply shocking, demonstrating the workers' practice and understanding of the model worker spirit, labor spirit and craftsman spirit.
The following is the personal growth experience sharing of Wang Xuedong, a great craftsman in China's heavy machinery industry, a technical expert in Henan Province, a winner of the May 1st Labor Medal in Xinxiang City, and a welder from Weihua Co., Ltd.

My name is Wang Xuedong, and I am a welder in the third shift of the single beam of Weihua Co., Ltd. I am very honored to be able to speak here. At the same time, I am also very grateful to the group party committee and the group labor union for giving me the opportunity to share and communicate with colleagues here. Thank you!
Now, I will share with you my work experience and career growth process during my work period.
01 Study with an open mind and learn skills in a down-to-earth manner
In 2007, I was very lucky to join our big Weihua family. This year is my 15th year working in the company. In these 15 years, I think what I have learned is directly proportional to the efforts and sweat I have put in. I dedicated my youth to Weihua, and Weihua has also helped me realize my personal career ideals.
Welding is a technical job. It is not enough to just have a welding certificate, but also to have skilled skills. Since I had no work experience, I started as an apprentice after I started working. Everyone of us is the same. We like to do familiar things in a familiar environment. When I first arrived in an unfamiliar environment and I had never been exposed to welding, I had one word in my mind - panic!
Behind every job is responsibility. I feel flustered, nervous, and at a loss. I am always afraid of not doing well or failing, but "fear" cannot solve any problem. What I hold in my hand is not just an ordinary welding gun, but the livelihood of my entire family. I need the courage to take the first step. With the encouragement and help of my leaders and teachers in the team, I work hard to learn welding knowledge and skills, practice welding skills hard, and gradually improve my welding skills.
I think that when you go to work,You have to be down-to-earth, be sincere, and do things down-to-earth. Your attitude towards work is also the attitude towards you in life. The more sincere your attitude is and the harder you work, the better your living status and living conditions will be.
In the few years since I joined the company, my understanding of work has become richer. It is no longer just work, it is a career. I work for the company and for myself. This includes the honors, skill certificates and increased salary I have now received. This is the best proof.
If you have a positive attitude and are willing to pay, you will definitely gain something!
02 Be diligent in thinking and weld every weld carefully
I always believe that God rewards hard work, and I regard every welding job as an opportunity to exercise. No matter it is so hot in the workshop that I am sweating all over in the summer, or it is too cold to hold the welding gun steadily in my hands in winter, I will take every welding job seriously, work hard, and weld with heart. After several years of unremitting efforts and learning, his welding technology has been significantly improved. Now, I have grown step by step from an apprentice to the technical backbone of the team. I have become the "old master" in the eyes of everyone in the team. In Henan dialect, it is "teacher". When I walk in the factory, young colleagues will shout like this when they meet. This is also a "sense of self-realization". With the skills, the burden on me is naturally heavier - now, I am mainly responsible for the production of non-standard products in the factory.
Of course, I am also very grateful to the company for its trust. I will also use my actual actions to live up to the trust and expectations of the company leaders.
Since 2011, our team has been responsible for the production of the company's first batch of 6.3T wall cranes, 150T and 300T yacht handlers, 30T keel cranes, single and double beam multi-fulcrum electric suspension cranes, and many non-standard products. At present, a new Chinese-style explosion-proof electric suspension crane for a domestic military industrial unit is also produced by our team.
Every time I receive a non-standard product, I will study the drawings with the master craftsmen in the team to find out the production difficulties, "live the movie" over and over in my mind, carefully consider it, think from the customer's perspective, and make predictions. We need to keep thinking. As soon as we get the drawings, we just pick up the welding gun and start working. That is reckless behavior and will not make us a craftsman. After careful consideration, we determine the specific production plan and complete the product production with high quality and high standard requirements to ensure that the quality inspection is passed in one go and the customer is satisfied and assured after delivery.
In 2019, the company's new Chinese-style single beam orders surged, and the team's production pressure was high. How to increase production capacity was the team's top priority. After discussion, I proposed to split some of the processes based on the characteristics of the products produced by the team, make full use of every inch of the production space, and improve personal labor efficiency as much as possible, so as to achieve the purpose of expanding production capacity. So far, the team's production capacity has increased from less than 200 units per month in 2019 to about 350 units currently.. In 2021, according to the company's arrangement, our team will undertake the production of a batch of new Chinese-style military multi-fulcrum electric suspension cranes with large spans and multiple fulcrums. Based on the key links that were difficult to control in the production of such products in the past, I formulated "production and production points", organized the team members to learn, strictly controlled from the first step, and inspected each process. A dedicated person was responsible for it, and strived for excellence. In the end, I completed the delivery of this batch of products with high quality, winning recognition and praise from customers.
03 Dare to think, dare to do, and test yourself in the competition
Work is not only a means of making a living, but also a career. I need to take it seriously and learn to understand it. Therefore, I am not afraid of tests, but have the courage to accept skills tests. After my welding skill level improved significantly, I took advantage of various platforms built by the company to carefully seize every training and competition opportunity and continue to train myself.
In 2012, I participated in the special CCS welder training organized by Wuhan Transportation Vocational College; from 2017 to 2019, I served as a practical internship instructor for the company’s blue-collar college students for three consecutive years. I participated in many welder skills competitions organized by the group, Changyuan City, and Xinxiang City, and won the Changyuan City’s Third Welder Skills Competition in 2018. The third prize in the competition; in 2019, he won the first prize in Xinxiang City's first "Makino Craftsman Cup" welding skills competition; under the recommendation of the company, he has won many honors such as "China Heavy Machinery Industry Great Craftsman", "Henan Province Technical Expert", "Xinxiang City May 1st Labor Medal", "Xinxiang City Technical Expert", "Makino Craftsman", "Outstanding Xinxiang Young Craftsman" and other honors.
The kindness of knowing each other is unforgettable. Along the way, I have been honored and grateful. I am grateful to the company for providing me with such a good platform to fully express myself. Each and every heavy honor belongs not only to me personally, but also to Weihua.
While doing my job well, I am also actively moving closer to the party organization and submitting an application for joining the party to the party branch. After the party branch’s inspection, on December 17, 2021, I gloriously became a probationary party member. Here, I would like to thank the party committee, general branch and branch leaders for their training.
In my future work, I will continue to take every weld, every component, and every product seriously, and create the best products with ingenuity.
One flower blooming alone is not spring, but a hundred flowers blooming together fills the garden. While striving to improve their own welding knowledge and skills, they should also do a good job of "teaching and mentoring" to fully demonstrate the responsibility and style of Weihua's industrial workers in the new era!
