Weihua’s 50-ton heavy-duty AGV made a surprise appearance

Recently, the independently developed 50-ton heavy-duty AGV made by Weihua Group's Weite Robot Company made a surprise appearance and was delivered to customers, marking Weihua's move to a new level in the field of intelligent handling robots.

With its large size, high load capacity, leading technical advantages and intelligent features, Weihua heavy-duty AGV can complete the processing, manufacturing and transportation of large objects that other AGV vehicles cannot complete.

Advantages of heavy-duty AGV technology

1. Using laser SLAM and navigation algorithms

Laser SLAM and navigation algorithms can improve positioning accuracy by 1cm from the industry's 5cm, greatly improving the accuracy and robustness of laser positioning.

The so-called robustness is the ability of the system to maintain certain performance unchanged under the disturbance of uncertainty.

2. Overloaded AGV dispatching system

The overloaded AGV scheduling system is equivalent to the brain of the AGV. It does not pursue the optimal solution for a certain action, but the overall optimal solution.

The project R&D team completed Weihua's first self-developed AGV dispatching system, which allows AGVs to complete docking with external systems, complete more actions, and realize more functions.

3. Multi-wheel motion control technology

The heavy-duty AGV drive system has extremely high requirements for smoothness, flexibility and durability. The complexity of motion control increases exponentially as the number of wheels increases.

This project adopts the control of 16 wheel sets. Ultra-low omnidirectional dual differential drive assemblies are used between the multiple wheel sets to compensate for the unevenness of the ground. This enables multiple sets of wheel systems to be in contact with the ground, and the load-bearing and driving capabilities are greatly enhanced, which not only ensures safetyIt is stable and can achieve high power output.

4. 3D visual suspended obstacle detection

It adopts an industrial-grade 3D depth vision camera, which can be used for precise positioning and accurate identification. It can not only detect objects in front of the robot, but also detect obstacles in the upper space. This not only avoids collision damage to materials during driving, but also provides a line of safety for people coming and going on site, providing customers with a safe and reliable handling experience.

5. Contactless charging

Powering the AGV through induction does not require the use of cables to connect the AGV to the power supply system, avoiding unfavorable factors such as contact wear, arc sparks and high AGV positioning requirements.

Contactless charging does not require expensive electric actuators, which greatly reduces equipment costs and labor costs. It has the advantages and characteristics of high reliability, no need for maintenance, not afraid of dust pollution, and can work normally in humid environment.

Through 5G+ intelligent material handling equipment, we can realize millisecond-level delayed industrial control signals and high-definition camera video data, realize remote control of AGVs, high-definition video backhaul of cranes, and three-dimensional warehouse stackers. Combined with business information systems such as WMS, ERP, MES, and SRM, we can realize the automation and intelligence of the entire process of logistics terminal control, parts storage, transportation, and sorting, and realize the intelligent upgrade of smart factory logistics and transportation.
