On the morning of June 6, at the Crane Industry Strategy Seminar held in Weihua Intelligent Industrial Park, the standards for "New Chinese General Overhead Crane" and "New Chinese General Gantry Crane" were officially released, providing a new "pointer" for the design and manufacturing of new domestic cranes.
The term "European-style crane" created by the Chinese is widely favored by Chinese companies for its main features of lightweight and high configuration. However, this concept does not exist in Europe. On May 28, 2021, Weihua Group launched the "New Chinese-style" crane and focused on this concept to develop and improve products. After two years of continuous innovation and improvement, "new Chinese-style" crane products have formed a complete sequence and standards.
Under the guidance of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, Weihua Group combined with the professional opinions of enterprises, research institutes, and industry technical experts, and after multiple rounds of meetings and continuous discussions, finally officially released the "New Chinese-style General-purpose Bridge Crane" and "New Chinese-style General-purpose Gantry Crane" standards, which were officially implemented on the same day.
Compared with traditional crane standards, the "New Chinese" crane standards released this time have two major characteristics: innovation and internationality. The "New Chinese" crane standard stipulates that the crane must adopt new process standards. Compared with traditional cranes, the height of the whole machine is reduced by 10% to 20%, the dead weight is reduced by 15% to 30%, and the wheel pressure is reduced by 15% to 30%. The performance indicators are higher than or on par with international standards, which greatly improves the competitiveness of Chinese lifting products in the international market.
Han Hongan, chairman of Weihua Group, said that the "New Chinese" crane group standards standardize the structural form of cranes, sort out the standard requirements in manufacturing, technology and control, improve the guidance of the standards, and provide effective guidance for the production, manufacturing and application of the industry. At the same time, standard requirements are set out for the modularity, greenness, and digitalization of cranes, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to promote the realization of the "dual carbon" goal and promote the new "dual cycle" development pattern.

Wang Jisheng, vice chairman and secretary-general of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, believes that "new Chinese-style" cranes are not only a new formulation of standards, but also a manifestation of national confidence, technological confidence, and brand confidence.
